A question for all you watchers

Thu Nov 13, 2008, 6:55 PM
So, I've come up against a roadblock recently thanks to our lovely economic situation. We recently expanded the enclosure earlier this year for The Redwood Pack (featured in a fair amount of photos in my gallery). That relates to a financial issue for us since we need to provide three erosion barriers spanning the enclosure to prevent the same sort of mudslide issue that hit us at the beginning of the year. We put preventative measures in place but now it's getting to where we have to act before the rainy season is upon us and the pack yet again. Brandon (my partner) is facing severe issues with his antique and artifact restoration business due to the economy. I have a pretty solid job no matter the economy since I'm in the medical field, but since it's as a veterinary technician things are getting really tight with me just affording our bills.

Now, this is where I put the call for help out. I hardly do any sales here on DA (I haven't even received my first $25 profit check yet) so I wanted to do some sort of fund raiser here on DA. For a week I will have my prices lowered considerably in the hopes of generating some sort of fund to help the pack. I'm planning for this to start as of next week if I see a worthy enough response here.

So, now's the time to speak up. If there's a sale on my photography would you be interested? It doesn't even matter if it's the smallest print I offer that you would purchase, the question is just if there is any interest. The sanctuary photos will still of course get the proceeds that I promise in the photo descriptions.

I love sharing photography featuring rescue animals and their stories. All the outpouring of support I receive in comments and notes on here means the world to me. Asking for a donation is a hard thing for me to do (just ask anyone who knows me), but at this point I don't have a lot of options. I'm hoping by promoting this sale (and having watchers help spread the word) it will provide incentive for pre-christmas sales at the very least.

In the meantime I promise more photography regardless.

Sincerely,

Harry

I am quite interested! I may not be able to scrounge up money right this second, but I will definately be sure to help out a bit once I get a paypal in action here =)

I wish you are your partner luck with the enclosures and the pack. I wish you all well, and may the economy recover!!!....

Man the depression gets worse, I did want to buy a feather from you quites some time back as you may or may not remember. However stuff happened and out the window it went. However; when I can I'll try my best to send something. Even if it's just a couple dollars. Cause get enough ones and you can add zeros.

People keep asking how was your day? It's like saying, "How was that drive-by shooting?" You don't care how it *was*, you're just happy you got through it. (Angela Chase)

Cool! Unfortunately, I don't have much money, let alone a suffecient way to pay. >.> So, I might as wellput this in one of my journals, to "spread the word", like you typed. ^^ Hopefully, those who come across my journal will have the urge to help you in your fundraiser!

Sincerely, Emily. :D

P.S. Your photography rocks!

I'm really sorry but I'm flat out broke. I'll try to "spread the word" but as for me, I can't buy any pictures.
Really sorry and I hope the enclose gets the funding it needs.

I'd be quite interested in a calendar. Apart from that, I'd also try to get some prints, but that depends on the price, actually - I'm a little low on money right at the moment.l

Sure, I'd buy something. Christmas is coming up. I wonder who likes wolves enough in my family... at least I can get a present for myself. And that's worst case. ;)

Afterthought: Just be sure to notify us when/if you start the sale so I don't miss it or forget. It's very important to me, but I still don't want to entrust it to my memory alone.
