Remembering Rank by Timberwolf4u Remembering Rank by Timberwolf4u
Sometimes when I look at Shy like this, all I can think of is that she is remembering back when she was alpha. A mother's fall from grace would have to be something you would have a hard time forgetting.

Such a sad, thoughtful pose. A beautiful picture, hands down.. it's so touching.

 very emotive... I kinda wonder about that, too, when an animal has found their lot has changed. It's amazing and fortunate that they still coexist peacefully... oft times that doesn't seem to be the case with multiple females in a pack... she must certainly have the right personality :).

Yes, the females definitely tend to be the hardest on each other. We did have to separate Gurty from the main pack for that exact reason. Mrs. B was picking on her way too much. As it is she has Elko now to keep her company and is doing wonderful. Her personality has really blossomed now.

Aw, poor Gurty-girl... glad she's happy with Elko, though. And isn't it funny how much of their personalities can be repressed by the social pressures of the rest of the pack?

She's super happy with Elko. I look forward to posting a new YouTube video soon highlighting a friend's visit with both the pack as well as Gurty and Elko. It truly is amazing how much the social structure of the pack can overshadow individual personality. Just another reason I find the parallels between dogs and humans all too similar =)

Shy's much more of a licker and jumper than a biter. She does make some nasty growls and such at points though =P
Thanks for the kind comments =)

Sorry for the extremely delayed response. We've had some nasty chaos here recently so I've been gone from online for awhile. The answer to your question is in my first journal entry on DA here: [link]

Actually, it was kinda serious, but didn't involve me, just my boyfriend. However, it affected a lot of things here at home to. More on that later in the journal.

But I'm sure she enjoys watching her children. That's what most mothers seem to enjoy.

Oh definitely. She's adjusted to the new position very well too. She knows exactly how to work every angle of it. Just weird to think about that she was once on top and very direct about it too =P

Thank you very much. The eyes and the positioning was definitely the focus. I took like 20 shots of her resting in this position to get this sort of feel =)

Well, Shy lost her rank to her extremely dominant daughter. It was bound to happen I guess. It's just weird to remember that Shy was once the one enforcing dominance, not receiving it. Glad you like.
