This shot shows how close to the path this little girls bedding was at. She'd tamped down and organized all the surrounding dead brush into the most adorable little nesting/bedding site. Literally 1 foot away was the path though. When I first stumbled across her she did a short hop to the side into the brush and froze. I didn't know what it was at first but held still and kept looking, then spotted her. She eventually just walked back out and plopped down on the bed again. Truly amazing.

Wow, this is remarkable. It reminds me of my trip to Sanibel Island and I was swimming with wild dolphins at a time because they came to the beach resort we were staying at. I was about 10 feet away, swam a little closer, then one popped up 4 feet away- so magical.
These shots are beautiful, Timber- I love gray foxes because of, well, where I live and my new mate is also a gray fox- they're also so unique as a species to climb trees how they do. You've captured some beautiful moments of this little girl in her stages of survival. Wonderful work, my friend <3

Fox babies are not shy at all. When I go watch them at the den with a friend we always hide under military nets. Not so much to hide ourselves but because the fox cubs would simply walk onto your lap after a while and we don't want them to get used to humans.

They are the cutest and funniest creatures I've ever seen.

Ahh! I've only gotten to do that a couple times before in Florida. Swimming with wild dolphins definitely carries some risk though. They can actually easily kill you if they get angry for whatever reason. They can fight off sharks so that shows they are no joke. That's one of the cool things about florida though..the marine life. I really enjoy swimming with the manatees near Crystal River when I visit back home. Didn't get to do that this time around because I came back kinda early this year. Missed the scalloping season by a month =P

I'm glad you like the shots. Seems Burtan does too since I saw some faves by him.

This one was the first I'd met so I wouldn't know! Too funny for the ones you mention. I'm definitely hoping to see more over time now I know where to look =)

Oh I know it is! I was panicking! You can ask Burtan, although I was curious, as soon as that one got four feet I gave a little squeak and scurried away as fast as I could! I was terrified but kind of getting over the intense part of my fear of wild animals.
I've swam that close to wild manatees before too but I swam away too realizing how powerful they are. I really do not want to overly mess with wild life >>

They were beautiful honey, absolutely a gorgeous baby. Sometimes it makes me wish I had a fox license so I could care and rehabilitate something as beautiful as that. But I also know how mischievous they are- I have one myself x3 *points to an oblivious Burt*

despite all my knowledge and passion for wildlife I would be so incredibly tempted to pick it up and call it my own..such a cute little fellow.
